Nick Thompson has been with Thompson Homes since 2007. He first served as the Vice President of Operations until being named President in 2012. Home building is in Nick’s blood, as he is now the third generation- following in his grandfather and father’s footsteps. As a child, he spent many Sundays at the office with his dad, and high school summer days working with the framing and concrete crews. Born and raised in Owensboro, KY, Nick attended Daviess County High School and graduated in 1997. He then went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and Business Management at the University of Kentucky where he met his wife, Jenifer. Nick spent the next 4 years with Centex working in their Land Development and Construction departments before moving home with his wife to join the family business.
At the forefront of the company, Nick is passionate about the fundamentals of homebuilding and oversees strategic initiatives, which include designing new products, defining the corporate brand, exploring new markets and creating a strong and meaningful company culture. With an emphasis on agile decision making, Nick is continuing to strengthen the talented team designed to deliver unparalleled quality and a memorable customer experience.
Currently, Nick remains very active in the local community. He served as President of the Owensboro Homebuilders Association in 2012 and is currently a Board Member.
